Dioramas

Halloween in the Sea

I didn’t want to make a Halloween Diorama like I did about 3 years ago because 🙄, but I fell by chance on that poem from Richard Brautigan. I saw thousands of pumpkins last night come floating in on the tide, bumping up against the rocks and rolling up on the beaches; it must be

Kolyuchin

It is the first time I’ve been counting the hours I spent on a diorama: for that one it’s a whooping 40 hours. It’s been inspired by picture by Dmitry KOKH who was the « Nature Photographer of the Year » in 2022 awarded by the Dutch based fondation «Nature Talks». It depicts polar bears squatting an

Seascape

I did that one last July as an exercise of water making. The expérimentations I did on that one I used on my recent Lahire Diorama. It’s rather an unsound scene, but it’s probably my best sea so far, you can zoom on it, there are not much mistakes on it

Angkor

A few weeks ago I was writing about how you need a complete idea before launching yourself in a project. Sometimes it takes me decades to get to that, but at other times the scene appears all ready in my head in a flash, and that’s the case here. I saw that bassin that is

Sawfish

That one is a story of a year old failure at doing a good diorama with that #sawfish I modeled some time ago. Once the resin basically failed, another time the diorama was just not good enough. And that one here I dropped 2 days ago on the tiled floor. And then here it was,

Tropics

Here’s a diorama I intended as being a cliché of everything nice and summer related, a holidays feel. the scale is more reduced than usual. I don’t know whetehr 1/48 or 1/72 would be best to qualify it.

1/35 Scotland diorama with heron and railway track

Scotland

I absoluteley don’t know whethere there are such paths leading to the sea in Scotland. I based that diorama on a picture I found on Instagram but couldn’t remind where it was shot. I’m particularly happy about the colouring despite the subdued feel of that scene. Finally I absolutely love to add herons in my
